Feeling Good

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by
You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good
I’m feeling good

I once chronicled a really bad day so that I would remember that it’s ok to have bad days sometimes. Today, the opposite is true. I’m having the best day I’ve had in a long time. Yes, I still have that pesky cold. My chest is still very much congested, my sinuses hurt, and I can’t stop coughing. BUT I’m not that sleepy. You read that right. I feel fairly awake today. It is 2:30pm and I am just now thinking it might be about time to nap as more of a precautionary measure and not as a I-have-to-nap-now-or-I-will-not-make-it type of situation. Honestly, I had forgotten what it was like to feel this decent. Is this how “normal” people feel?! Wow!

What did I do differently? Well, it’s day 16 of being on a gluten-free diet, so most or all of the gluten should be out of my system. I also slept in until 7:00 this morning, meaning I pushed back my morning medication a bit (10:00 am). I don’t know what worked, but I’m so happy that I am getting to enjoy a good day. I shall relish it by catching up on work projects and enjoying my daughter’s gymnastics class this evening – all while being awake!

It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
It’s a new life
For me

And I’m feeling good

When was the last really good day you had? How did you enjoy it?

  1. Hmmm. I’m ashamed to say it’s hard for me to remember the last really good day I had! It wasn’t all this way.

Maybe when I was able to get my provigil back about a month ago. I went out to a coffee shop and got some schoolwork done. It was so nice to be able to go someplace in public for a few hours without fear of getting really confused and exhausted or falling asleep.
